Loopy 3 Roller Coast (2018)

Steel flatbar, paint

3' x 2.5' x 2'

In this body of work I used strips of steel flatbar to iterate and expand on the Mobius Strip-- a continuous, infinitely looping shape with no beginning or endpoint. Across the 15+ sculptures that make up this body of work, I explore different dimensions and scale for the pieces. Some are smaller than a cubic foot, while the biggest is 5 feet in all dimensions.

For exhibition, pieces are suspended in the air. Exhibition visitors are encourages to touch and spin the pieces so that they move simultaneously, creating the effect of a forest-like constellation of moving loops.
